May 2016

May! My favorite month of the whole year!!  Which is kinda of a lot of pressure for one month, and I will say this was not my most favorite May ever.  It was still good, but it rained A LOT, and was quite cool for most of the month we were wearing jackets a coats A LOT, and it just seemed a little stressful but we still had a lot of good times in May here's my review:

Will and I got to go to a EMS awards dinner for "clinical saves" of 2015.  The Fairview guys who were involved in saving the man who had a heart attack last fall.  It was a nice dinner and event they put on. (thanks Dad for babysitting!)

Will and Beth:

Will had a pretty good month at work, he had a couple ILEAS call outs, his normal monthly ILEAS training, a week of vacation, and he even tased a guy!  I was busy with MOPs wrapping up with a big tea party where I supplied 40+ teacups, and trained a new person to take over my finance leadership position, the yard, cooking, and boys kept me busy the rest of the month, especially with Grant out of school now.  Will and I got a Kansas City get away, and celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary!

Will and I had a wonderful time at the 2nd Annual (we hope to keep it going!) Rowland Siblings Sporting KC weekend.  (Sporting is the name of Kansas City's MLS soccer game for those of you who dont know) We enjoyed the drive time together in the new Jetta just being Will and Beth for a bit and not Mommy and Daddy.  Our time with all the Rowland Siblings was lots of fun. (thankyou Grandma Cindy for watching the boys!)  We've also both been enjoying buying some fun new stuff with our Birthday money.  (Will has held on to his for a while)  Will's got some new soccer jerseys, and hiking shoes, and I got a new zoom lens for my DSLR camera, flip flops, and a new backpack for when we go hiking at the smokey's later this summer.

Game time! Let's Go Sporting

It was raining but we were dry under the stadium over hangs

Dwyer heads it in and.....it went wide.  Close one.

A good shot of the action on the field

Enjoyed getting shots like this of Dom Dwyer with my new zoom lens

Will and I even got to go on a quick coffee factory tour of the Roasterrie in downtown KC on Sunday before we headed home.

These guys make me look good....
@ Coldstone getting my Birthday Ice Cream treats!

Grant:

I got to be the helper on Grant's last day of 3 yr Old preschool. It was kinda of a fun party day.
This was the finger painting with shaving cream table.
Grant and I caught 20 fish in about 30 minutes on morning in the pond behind our house.
They were all whoppers! (as you can see)
If you look closely you might be able to see Grant, but if you cant find him dont feel bad he has camouflaged him self very well.

Grant finished up preschool on the 12th of this month so he's already full swing into summer mode.  Which has its pros and cons.  I'm glad he's home and done with preschool, but he is missing having his brother home to play with him all day.  I would say the title of "frustrating 4's" fits him pretty good right now.  He can be so fun to have around as my tag along all day some times and other times....well not so much.  He has a bad habit of waiting until it is too late to do something and then freaking out and wanting to do it.  Like ignore Daddy when he is leaving to go somewhere and then as he's pulling out of the drive way throwing a fit that he didn't get to hug and kiss him, or as we enter the store all of a sudden melting down (loudly!) that he didn't get to push the button on the van door to close it, when he never even mentioned wanting to do it at the time.  Its kinda like walking around with a ticking time bomb sometimes your not really sure when he might blow up!  Its a phase (I pray) and I think he will learn eventually he cant control the whole world and we will all be better off for it but in the mean time its a little ruff.

Rex:

Rex had a special event a church this month called the 1st Word Celebration, its sort of a right of passage/kindergarten Graduation ceremony to transition the kindergartners out of Creation Corner Child Care area and now up and on to Kid Connection (for grades 1-3).  They memorized Psalms 23 (Rex knew it really well!) and had several fun songs they sang (Rex knew them all by heart and loved singing them and doing all the motions), his favorite was the Fruits of the Spirit song he sang it for weeks around the house before hand.  Then on Sunday Morning all the Kindergarteners were presented with a Bible from the Pastor.  He was really proud to get it and spent most of that afternoon at home just studying the pictures, and maps, and reading a few things here and there.

4 kids doing 4 different motions....seems about right
Rex had a blast!

Time to Celebrate!

The boys at a cold raining mini-all star night.  So far they've done soccer, t-ball, and kickball.
The crazy crew of boys I kept an eye on
I also got to chaperon a class field trip to the St. Louis Botanical Gardens.  It was fun to get to spend the whole day with Rex in his element with his class mates.  Poor Rex still has all the way till June 9th till he's on Summer break.  We are one of the last schools in the area (maybe the world!) to get out.  Its going to be a big adjustment this year having them both home all day but we already have quite a bit scheduled this summer it should be pretty fun.

LOLs:

Rex in the back seat of the car "Mom I think I know what British means, it means you are bald"

When Grant asked me about the toy he was playing with, "Mom, Is this a Chinese Knock off?"

Next month we are looking forward to Summer Break Officially Starting for all!, A trip to Kansas, and Will and I will officially start our Marathon training.

My coffee making skills are improving!
and Will got me a coffee Grinder so I can be even  more fancy pants in my coffee brewing
