Yellowstone: setting up camp

We had so much fun our first day seeing the sites we didn't' get back to our camp site until about 8:30pm to start making dinner. This was also one of the coldest evenings it got down into the 40's soon after dark. Thanks to mom and dad we had all the tools we needed, a good lantern and a cook stove to make some warm soup for dinner.

This is kind of an overview of our home sweet home for 3 days. Our tent was down the hill to the right and our picnic table and fire area over to the left. We were surrounded by long pole pine trees everywhere.

With the cook stove we were able to have hot oatmeal and hot drinks for breakfast. They had a strict "clean camp" rule so anything we had out while we were cooking had to all be sealed up in the car before bed or if we would leave....it helps keep the bears away so we were happy to comply.
