Ramblings on Wildtree and Instant Pots

So you may have noticed I haven't posted a Wildtree Post in a long time.  Which is for several reasons.  1-I haven't tried any new recipes lately to review.  However I do still continue to cook many of our favorites regularly.  2-Wildtree Corporate has gotten greedy and changed from a yearly quota of $350 to a quarterly sales quota of $350.  Which if my math is right that's quadrule the old amount!  I was never really in it to make money, just get a good discount on the product, try new recipes, and share it with others if they were interested.  To sell $350 in a year was no sweat but every 3 months seemed like a bit of a chore now but I thought maybe I could still swing that. But then on top of that they implemented a new App and online system which used to be optional and is now required to stay in business and costs $14.95 a month.  Not a lot if you are selling lots of product every month, but if you aren't that will start to drain your modest business checking account pretty quick or make the profits from your occasional sales almost none existent.  So anyway all that is too say....I am no longer a Wildtree Rep.  I got fired, I didn't meet my quota or let them have my money monthly.  I still very much like their products and recipes but didn't make the cut as a sales person.  I guess it's a little disappointing that I don't still have access to all the rep perks but I have LOTS of product stored up that I will enjoy using for a long time.  I may still occasionally order a few of our favorite products, but there is also a good chance I will just modify some of our favorite recipes with ingredients I can just get at the store.

So out with the old (Wildtree) and in with the new (Instant Pots!).  I told Will when all this was happening that I feel like every couple years I need a new "gimmick" to help me re-invent my cooking.  To keep it fresh and fun. First I discovered Freezer meals and had  my freezer meal club I enjoyed swapping meals with (however we've all gotten busy with just life and haven't traded for probably over a year),  Then I did the Wildtree gig for a while, which was good while it lasted,  then last fall I kept hearing about these instant pots.  I started researching them and pinning yummy looking recipes on Pinterest.  I got one for my Birthday back in May and have used it some with mixed results I'd say.  (there is definitely a learning curve to it) but haven't really just dived into using it regularly.  I'm hoping to start trying to use it more often as the school year begins and I have a little bit more time to meal plan and try new recipes.  So be on the look out for some new recipes on my blog in the very near future (I hope).
