Rexie had a busy eventful Birthday weekend. We started off with our traditional Birthday morning Donuts. Then he had to go to school for the day. But it wasn't too bad, he took fudge sicles for a treat to school, and they just happened to be going bowling that day, so we got to spend half his school day at the bowling alley on his birthday. Then Will picked him up and brought him to Greenville for his Star Wars Episode 7 Birthday Party! (Grant and I were already there doing a yard sale all day with Mom)
Rexie opening his big Lego City Police Station present! He also had lot of other packages to open from Awesome Aunts and Uncles from all over the US and Grandparents in Kansas, he didnt get too much from Mom and Dad this year to open but you will see why if you keep reading
Rex Got a Yoda Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen, we also had pizza from Marios!
Rex worked very hard on his police station until it was done. I have usually built all his set for him and he has maybe helped some but been more interested in playing with the minifigs. But this year he started wanting to build it his self. He did an amazing job, there were just small things he need help on or quick fixes. I was proud of him that he can do it on his own now, and sad because I'm out of a building job (which I actually really like). Rex also wanted to shoot some Utube videos of him making the set (just like the ones he watches on Utube.) I will be posting them soon.
Both boys were entertained almost all of Saturday building and playing with the new set.
Rex's big gift from us was a new loft bed. We had planned to get him a twin sized one from IKEA but then we found out an aid at his school was selling a full sized one. Its a nice addition to his room
Rex at 6 is:
- very inquisitive, he wants to know what's real and what isn't. "Is Iron man real in our world?" "Are the people who sang this song real?" "Are Cowboys real?" "Is Lava real?" "Is that like from the olden days like from 1983?"
- Very Loving, affectionate, sensitive, and easy to cry
- Wants to know what the rules are so he can follow them to a T
- Enjoys coloring, drawing, and mazes
- Says he wants to be a police man or a Military MP when he grows up
- Some times seems so grown up and capable and independant but at other times still seems so immature and needy
- Is into Bats, Owls, Legos, Star Wars, Disney Infinity, EvanTube HD, coloring, and basketball
- Is a sponge! I can't believe all the things he comes home and tells me that he has learned at school, or the way he can memorize things so quickly
- Is very dramatic! sigh
- Makes me proud to be his Mom (most days anyway ;)
