April 2016 Review

I like how all the trees look out front in the spring
Oh my goodness April was a busy month!  Not sure how much I will write but I have a TON of pictures to show what all we were up to this month.  It took till we were about half way through April but Spring did finally Sprung.  We came into the month with a 3 and 5 year old and we are ending the month with a 4 and 6 year old.  We've partied, been bird watching, planting, drinking (coffee mostly), to training, and several ILEAS Call outs, camping, yard saling, Wildtree eating and making, Car buying, racing, zooing, and lots of playing!

Grow Raspberries, Grow!  I've got most of my plants in the Garden 3 Tomato varieties and 3 pepper Varieties.

Daddy got his new car!!  A 2016 Volkswagen Jetta Sport.  We have all been enjoying it!

I told Rex to pose by it because it could be his car in about 10 more years....

Will and I on the Metro Link at about 5:30am, headed into St. Louis for a 7K river run

We did it!  Took a selfie at the post race breakfast
"please use caution and obey all Instructions!"

Just a little snuggling before we got the day started

Our spread for my MOPs Egg Roll Party.  We had about 4 couples come.  We all sat out on the deck and enjoyed good food and good company until quite late.

I followed a pattern and sewed this purse together all by myself!

I bought a French Press and Milk Frother and am dabbling at Coffee Brewing, so far I have a lot to learn.

Just enjoying a pretty day on the deck with Grants new playdoh set (and some of the old ones too)

Grant Really wanted to help with Pancakes, he isn't the best flipper, but he did a good job scooping them onto the plate when they were done.

I was looking for a book at the library when I turned around the boys were like this, guess they just couldn't wait till we got home to look at their books.

A little Saturday morning swords play
While Daddy was away at training for the week, I introduced the boys to push-pops, they approved!

My treasures at the end of the Rainbow.

More of my coffee Experimentation.  So far Dunkin Donuts is my favorite.  Kaldi Coffee is a St. Louis Roasting Co.  I bought some beans for my French Press

Brothers on the beach (taken at Durley Camp)

They boys really wanted Smores, Papa and Mr. Scott (the other couple that was camping with my parents) worked really hard to get this fire going, with a lot of damp kindling.  They did finally success and the smores were delicious!

While the guys were working on the fire, Mom spotted a Bald Eagle land on a tree over the lake, then we watched it glide over Govenor Bond Lake for quite a while, very cool!

Rex had a 4 day weekend so I took the Boys to the Zoo.

Picnic Lunch at our favorite spot at the Zoo

checking out the Camels

Im not sure what it is about this hippo at the kids zoo area but I cant help but take a picture of the boys in it every single time we go.  Maybe I come by it honest.  I found a picture the other day of my sisters and I posed around this very hippo at about age 8 or 9.
Grant and I were playing hide and seek, he hid me so he could count to 10 and come fine me.

Little Boy-isms

Grant- (I think we might need to work on Grants theology a little bit), while we were playing upstairs in his room he told me very calmly and sweetly-"Mommy when I grow up I'm going to kill you on the cross because I love you so much"

Rex: trying to get me to play legos with him "Mom please will you play with me, I wont even care if the stuff you build is dumb"   gee  you know how to sweet talk me Rex!

Rex-while proudly riding his tricycle down the street and I was walking along with him he turned around and just beamed the sweetest little Rexie boy smile then turned around and kept peddling then he said, "Do you know why I smiled at you?  2 reasons,  the first reason is because I love you a lot, a lot, a lot, and the 2nd reason is because tomorrow I get to pick something out of the treasure box at school!"  (I guess Im glad I still trump the treasure box)

Grant with his buddy Roman having a fun play date at the park

French press coffee is my absolute favorite. But a milk frother? I need to learn more about this! You guys had a very eventful April for sure. I love the boys' quotes. If you need some theological help, I could refer you to our church's pastor on call. ;)
