January 2016

Wow 2016 is here.  So starts another years of life and blogging about said life.  So here we go 2016 lets make it a good one.

Will and Beth:
This month brings a much anticipated and welcome change to Wills schedule.  Starting the 18th Will is on the day shift.  The pros: no more tip toeing around the house all day and access to the basement all day long, we get to see Will all day when he's off rather than from 3pm on, and no more sleeping alone at night.  The Cons:  Will is not a morning person so a 5am wake up on work days is not something he's looking forward too.  Im really used to having Will around every afternoon.  It is a nice break up of the day to have him join the mix at 2:30.  He picks Rex up from school everyday, and I often go to the gym, or for a run, or just get some time alone in the afternoon (which really keeps me sane especially after doing it solo all morning and often all evening once he goes to work).  So it will be an adjustment for all of us to have him go to work at 6am and not be home till after 6pm on days he works.  But the trade off is he'll be home every night for bedtime and when he's off he'll be around all day to hopefully keep me sane ;)

Another big topic of discussion this time of year is planning all our vacations, trips, and plans for the year.  Will has to submit all his vacation for the year by March.  This year we hope to visit the Stahr Klan in Texas (hopefully around spring time), I hope to have a Girls getaway with my college Besties in the spring some time, there will be several trips to Kansas throughout the year, probably a Will and Beth only Getaway probably to the Smokey Mountains this year, and there is also talk of running a marathon this year.  Its something that just kinda keeps gnawing at me, and I think it will until I give it a try.  We are most interested in the Wichita Prairie Fire Marathon on October.  Its very flat, Will has that weekend off and Monday is a holiday so the kids would be out of school for traveling home, and Wichita is where I ran my first half and I think it would be cool to do my first full there, also it is where Will ran his first full, also they have really built this race up over the last couple of years and I think it would be a fun course to do.

Rex at Star Wars the Force Awakens-One happy Dude!

Rex:

This month got off to a slow start for Rex with him waking up at 5a.m.  Monday morning when he was supposed to go back to school from break saying "my throat hurts, and my stomach hurts, and Im having bad dreams."  In my sleep induced state I told him to go potty, get a drink of water, and go sleep on the couch and thought that would solve all his problems.  Well pretty soon he showed back up at 6:30 saying his tummy hurt I had him get in bed with me and 30 sec later he was throwing up all over the bed.  He continued to throw up all day about every hour that day, then the next day he had a rash and still said his throat hurt.  I took him to the Dr. and he had strep throat. (which after the doctor explained it to me explained all of the symptoms perfectly).  So then he was out of school yet another day on Wednesday because he was still contagious up to 24 hours after he got the medicine which wasn't until after lunch Tuesday.  Then going back to school was ruff after such a long break at home.

Rex started Upward Basketball this month.  He has practice every Monday and a game every Saturday.  It is at our church and they have a devotion after every practice and pray before games.  So far we are all liking it.  I feel like he's learning some good skill in a positive environment, and I love the little devotion they do at the end of practice.

Rex Quote: "Mom when am I going to get a computer in my room?"  --Ha keep dreaming kid! I told him when he's in college.
We got free tickets to a SLU Billikens Basketball game through Rex's school.  The boys had fun.

pizza and penicillin, its whats for dinner

Grant:

Grant has been calling me Momma B lately.  So I started calling him Baby G.  Then we made up a poem/song, it goes like this:(it's a work in progress)
Momma B and Baby G left to go on a shopping spree
Baby G said give that to ME!
Momma B said its not free.
Baby G ran away and skinned his knee
Momma B said goodness me!

January has not been kind to our immune systems. Will had a bad cold that he missed a day of work for at the beginning of the month and another one at the end of the month, Rex had Strep, hives, and a viral fever thing and a cold, in all he missed 5 days of school this month, I had strep that really knocked me down and a cold, Grant was probably the most healthy of us but he still had a long bout of constipation, a rash, a yeast infection, and a mystery 24 hr fever. Yeesh! We are taking our Vitamin C and hoping to stay healthy for a while!
