| Mom helped me with my first Fairview Yard Sale. It was a success! |
I started off August by saying I hoped it was the most boring month ever! After 3 long road trips the previous 2 months and a long road trip planned for September we just needed a quiet month at home. While I wouldn't quite say it was the most boring month ever it was definitely more of a normal pace than the last couple. We had some amazingly cool days this month where we had the windows open all day and had to wear long sleeves in the morning but by the end of the month we were in the upper 90s and very dry.
| Will and I had a date at Rampart Range in Pocahontas. This was my target!! |
| I had to do bedtime on my own quite a few times this month which can be a bit crazy but I do enjoy holding both boys on my lap and reading. |
Will & Beth:
Will was kept pretty busy with work and lots of overtime assignments this month but he still found time for Sunday night indoor soccer on the weekends. (I just realized I dont have any pics with him sorry Ill do better next month Will!) Will and I have both be doing quite a bit of running. Usually we take turns on his days off one of us goes to run and the other plays with the kids, then when one gets back we switch, then when they get back the first runner takes a shower and the other watches the kids, then its the second runners turn to get cleaned up. Usually by the time we do all that the morning is over and its lunch time! When Will works I have also been taking the boys in the jogging stroller and trying to get 1.5-3 miles in. They ride very well while I run, usually because I go to the park and they know they get to play when I get done running. I totalled 69 miles this month and I am up to 8 miles for my long runs and I signed up for a half marathon in October! It feels really good to be back I really feel like running is a spiritual experience for me I always end so thankful and recharged. Whats up in the Garden you ask? I harvested my sunflowers and hung them up to dry. Im hoping in a few weeks well will have sunflower seeds from them. I also planted some spinach and lettuce which already has some sprouts coming up. I have been getting some jalapenos this month and raspberries again. I have lots of green tomatoes but not to many red ones yet.
| I made my first solo trip to the Zoo with the boys this month, we had a lot of fun! |
| Rex had a blast at the Bond County fair and really liked riding the rides. |
Rex: Two exciting highlights for Rex this month were going to the Greenville County Fair and Preschool orientation week. Rex heard about County Fairs on a TV show and he has wanted to go to one ever since. I was a little worried that it might not live up to all the hype. But for this 3 year old it was all he had dreamed about and more. Farris Wheels, the scrambler, walking in the parade, cotton candy, cows, rabbits, and pigs, watching the parade, hugging the dressed up animals, and candy!! He is still talking about it and our potty treat basket is full for a long time! Next month Rex starts 3 year old preschool 2 days a week. He has been asking me all summer if its time for preschool yet, he has asked me so much that now he just asks if its fall yet because he knows that when he asks if its time for preschool yet I tell him we wont go till the fall. Last week we had his orientation he had a good time and is excited to go back. He is also very excited about his new lunch box!!
| Rex really liked the Kiddie Scrambler...which kinda surprised me |

| Rex as a Police officer |
| Rex as Luke Skywalker....can you tell we were into dress up this month. |
| Rex "doing his work" at the kids area at the Zoo |
| Rex wanted me to make him a tazer like Daddies so he could stop bad guys....I think it turned out pretty good. |
| Rex got this "outfit" on after bath time and announced to me he was a Police officer. |
| Having fun at the play ground...and making Mommy nervous. |
| Rex wanted to wear a tie to dinner.... |
| Looks like Rex is pulling the old "Grant whats that over there?" trick to bad for him the tunnel is see through! |
| Grant on the Indian |
Grant:
Well let me start of by saying Mr. 16 month old Grant is very ornery. He loves to get into cabinets he shouldn't and not lay still for diaper changes, and climb up the stair and then run around and squeal in the hallway up stairs like a madman until someone comes to get him so he can run from them, he throws food from his high chair to the dog, he is getting more picky about his foods, he lays down on the floor and screams when he doesn't get his way, and worst of all he is saying lots of new words but still wont say Mommy! (seriously Rex wouldn't say Mommy forever and now Grant wont either! what is wrong with these boys!!) But he is also super sweet at 16 months, he loves to wave bye and says "bye bye da-da", and when you come home he runs to you while yelling "HI!", he gives very sweet kisses, he has a great giggle, he loves to lift his head in the air and shake it till he is dizzy, when you ask him a question he will answer with "yay". I could go on but I guess for every ornery thing there is also a sweet thing at this age....I know I may not be able to say that in a few months. Some days Grant has started sleeping in a little later this month its more like 6 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. now, hey I guess I'll take what I can get. And we are starting to transition to one nap a day when he "sleeps in". He will usually nap 2.5-3 hours in the afternoon.

| did I take to many pictures this month? |
| Yo Momma! |
| Grant was dumping water on his head over and over when I took this....have I mentioned he has a wild streak? |
| Grant blinks in pictures A LOT! for every good one I get I have to delete like 3. But look at that mouth full of teeth, no new ones this month. |
Thanks August you've been great. Look out September here we come and look out McQuaids we are headed to Florida!!

Could there be more character and cuteness in a blog post? I don't think so. :o)
