Flyby July

My sunflowers are in full bloom!

I really love them.
Well July found us unexpectedly back in Kansas 2 more times.  We started off the month ending up a visit in Kansas to honor the memory of Great Grandma Nell.  She passed away at 105 and while it was sad to be at the funeral I think most of us where more happy for her to be in heaven and free from all her aliments.  Just 2 short weeks later we were back for the funeral of Will's Grandpa Bill.  His was a bit more of a surprise but he too had lived a long full life and we were glad we were able to make it back to be there for his services and get in some more good family time with people that we dont get to see enough of.

Me and Danya
Will & Beth:
This month I got to do some thing very rare!  I had a mother daughter girls weekend get away!  Will stayed home with the boys and I got to spend 2 days with my mom my college roommate Danya and her mom.  We shopped, ate out, laughed a lot, played candy crush (Danya got me addicted!), and most importantly relaxed. We all had so much fun together somehow I dont think this will be our last mother daughter weekend together.  Wills indoor soccer season ended and he had so much fun he signed up for the next session.  This time he is on a team with some people he has gotten to know from the league.  He is scoring goals and buying all kind of new soccer jerseys to wear!

We missed getting to see the whole Stahr Klan due to Kansas travels but we ended up getting to host the Stahr menfolk for a night on their trip back to Texas.

The G Man-15 months old
Grant:  Wow Grant is definitely a busy guy these days.  He wakes up at the crack of dawn to get the day going early (5:30 most days, but occasionally earlier) and he is busy all day playing, babbling, dodging his crazy brother, being silly, and he even makes time for 2 naps.  He is starting to say a few more words, this month we added OEOE (which is his version of EIEIO), no, O-pa (open), Up (like pick me up now!), and he said shoe one time but I haven't heard it again.  Good news his grass phobia seems to be over and he now wonders the yard as he pleases....not always as mommy pleases.  He LOVES to run in circles around things (often its daddy) and he is getting close to actually being able to run.  Also he kind of has a shoe fetish he brings me random shoes all day long that he would like put on.  And finally Grants worst first this month was we had our first ever little boy ER visit this month with Grant.  In a rather freak umbrella stroller accident the tip of Grants right ring finger got totally smashed and stuck in the stroller hinge.  It was flat as a pancake when we got it pulled out.  So we rushed off to St. Louis Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital.  They took really good care of us all and the best part was no broken bones!

My loves

Rexie:  Rex has had a pretty good month actually.  He loved all the trips to Kansas and especially several all you can watch TV days on the van trips.  It seems like at lease for this month tantrums have mellowed out.  We have definitely had plenty of tears, dramas, and meltdowns but maybe we are starting to get some distance from the terrible twos, maybe.  Rex invented his own super hero this month self named Rescue Rex!  He even had a tag line it was "Im ready to help people!"  He had a cap, a helmet, watch, and rescue tongs.  Much of his "help" was after people had been asked to fall down or fall in the bathtub so that he could then rescue them.  Here is a funny conversation I had with Rex the other day:
Rex (out of the blue): Mommy I want a sister
Me: (very surprised): What!  Why do you want a sister?
Rex:  I would take care of her all by my selves and I would  teach her to go potty but sometimes she might have accidents
Me: Oh what would you say to her when she had an accident?
Rex: EWWW THATS DISCUSTING!
Me: Laughing....that wasn't exactly what I meant...
and by the way dont hold your breath for a sister anytime soon!

Rex's first fish.  We have been fishing at the neighbors pond a lot this month.

Rex worked hard at learning how to wear flip flops this month, now he's a real pro

I love the blog. I really thought Grant in the Batman sunglasses was Rexie at first glance.

Love the photography too. You take amazing pictures.
