October has been a completely BEAUT-iful month!
It was hard but we got through the first week of October and School work and made it to VACATION!
much, much, much needed vacation!
Tennessee is absolutely beautiful in the fall. I think we may have missed peak fall color by a week or so but it was sure close and pretty.
We went on a 1.8 mile hike, and saw several waterfalls. Both boys did really really well hiking up and down the mountain!
We had a lot of fun with the McQuaid kids!
The kids decided there was a lake and it needed swam in....no matter that is was in the 60's!
Fun family bonfire and smores party!
We had a fun morning at the museum of Appalatia
Our Lake house was Amazing! There was plenty of room for all of us to stay and spread out and also come together!
Grant and I (also helped by Lily) made our famous Donuts....60 donuts were consumed in a matter of minutes!
The ladies all enjoyed working on a 500 piece puzzle...and we finished it
Aaron and the kids tried fishing...no luck.
pretty foggy morning
The view from the deck/and the view from the porch
I really am loving teaching these 2. I am learning so much about history, and the brain, and even about helping verbs! The kids in our area are all back in school, but I am not regretting home schooling them at all.
Toga Party!
Grant has been holding on to the bulk of his Yard Sale money since July. He finally found what he wanted to spend it on. A LEGO SPACE STATION! He built is (almost) entirely himself too!
We weren't sure how it would go but we did trick or treating in our neighborhood. It actually went great! We only had people come by our house for about an hour but most people I recognized from the neighborhood.
Grant made up his skeleton costume on the day of Halloween....it turned out pretty good!
The boys ended up getting A LOT of candy!
Well that about wraps up October, The days are definitely getting shorter, and colder, and greyer. Guess it's about time for the holiday season.

I absolutely LOVE the vacation spot. And all the pictures, and all the creative homeschool stuff, and all that you guys are doing. :)
