March 2018

I feel like March has really flown by.  March has been colder, and wetter than we would have liked but we've still enjoyed some outdoor times and lots of inside family time.

We've been out working on our trails in the back yard.  Grant is my trail blazer and tests out all the trails and where branched need trimmed for me.

A good old Snowy March Sunday, these pic were over the course of about 3 hours.

Will spend quite a bit of time power washing out deck.  We soon realized this was just the tip of the iceberg for deck maintenance that needs to happen.  Hopefully when we can string enough warm days with no rain together soon so we can do some sanding, replace rotting boards, and get it water sealed.

Grant started Upward soccer!  This is his first organized sport.  So far he's only had 2 practices and had his ups and downs learning to control the ball and controlling his temper when things dont go his way.  We'll see how it goes.

Rex kinda enjoyed finally being the kid on the sidelines at practice.

The boys tried to catch that sneaky leaprechaun, (I didn't take a picture of their trap).  They didn't catch him but he did leave them some Green donuts for trying!

Speaking of Upward sports.  Rex finished up his basketball season this month.  He had a pretty good season.  He is one of the better dribblers on the team but had trouble sinking baskets.  The last 2 games he got 2 points each game.  I think he was just starting to hit his stride when the season ended.  He says he'll be back again next year.

Rex and I living the soccer Mom life.

The theme for the year at Illini Elementary is Kindness.  This last week they had a whole theme week to emphasis kindness.  One the last day each grade wore a color of the rainbow.  (the theme for the day was "be the rainbow in someone else's cloud").  I really love the pic they took.  (both boys are in there but they are pretty hard to spot.

Happy Birthday Daddy!  Will had to leave on Monday (his birthday) to go to training for the week, but I think he did OK, we spent the whole weekend before celebrating his birthday.  Cherry Coffee Cake, Snickers bday cake, eating out at Showguns Hibachi Grill.

And bday season has officially begun at our house.  April's starting out jam packed, with Easter, Grants Bday, Spring Break, and a family trip all within  the first week!
