MARCH 2015!

Ahh March.  Thankyou for the warmer weather, and the longer days, and not having to wear winter coats anymore, and walks around the neighborhood, and healthy boys, and playing at the park, and running in shorts and t-shirts (most of the time), and rain showers, and decent sleep at night.

Will and Beth:

I hosted a mops craft night at my house
This month has been back to a more 'normal' schedule for Will.  We are all so used to his nights schedule at this point that when he is on days for a bit is feels wierd.  The City of Fairview and the police union have come to an agreement for their contract for the next 2 years.  They got a few new things to their contract and he will get a bit of a cost of living raise.  so thats good last time they went without a contract for 3 years and had to go into mediation.

I took a sewing class and made this fun placemat.  This was my 3rd class.  I also made a little zipper bag at one of the classes. Im having fun learning about all the sewing techniques and presser feet and all the amazing things you can do with a sewing machine.

We got a new family computer this month!  Welcome to 2015!  We still had windows xp which wasn't supported by microsoft anymore and we were finding more and more programs weren't working with it anymore.  I've got most things moved over to the new computer and am figuring things out pretty good.  "I Love Technology"

These Boys played in the sand wagon for almost 2 days straight during our first few days of warm weather.

Rex:

Rex all dressed up for 'Wacky Wednesday' at preschool.
Rexie, Rexie, lets see what about Rex.  He covered the letters W, X, Y, and Z at preschool.  He started the month out very into The imperial Spy from Star Wars and has now moved on to General Grievious. We also started reading the Magic Tree House book series this month.  Lucky for us Grandma Cindy has the entire series.  We have already read the first 5 books.  We have definitely had some major mood swings this month and some grumpy arguing days.  Which we hadn't had much of lately.  I guess he's getting the last of the Frustrating 4's out of his system(we hope)
Rex has been sounding out words and asking how to spell words.  I was excited when he asked me how to spell Grants name.  I thought it was so sweet that he wanted to know how to spell his brothers name......then he showed me this sign he was making for his door. "NO GRANT"

Grant:

Hangn' with my Granty-guy

March has been much better in the Grant department. Still plenty of things we are working on but not so many all out huge tantrum times.   We kinda started up potty training again but im finding it hard this time to really just dedicate time to focus solely on potty training.  He has been telling me some days "Mommy NO more diapers for me!" (that is from a potty training video we watched).  So he has at least been cooperative for it but as the day goes on his willingness to sit on the potty usually wanes.  I think we will just kinda do it for fun for now as he likes and really focus on it once Summer gets here and we don't have to be somewhere every day of the week.  Which is a little hard for me. I wanted to be able to say I had him potty trained by his 3rd birthday like his brother but I guess I will just have to swallow my pride and do it when we have time to do it right.

this is how Grant greeted me one morning.

March always brings on the beginning of the birthday season in the Rowland house hold.  Starting with Will's at the end of the month then for 2 more Thursdays in a row we have bdays.  (Will, Grant, then Grandma Cindy) then in a few weeks Rex and I get our turns.  Not to mention many Sibling, and cousin bdays.
sunset leaving gville and headed home

In April we are looking forward to our first family vacation of the year to Aunt Amy and Uncle Michael's in Lincoln Nebraska.  With possibly a side trip to Legoland in KC, Both boys bdays, and Will and I are running the Go St. Louis half marathon.
