January 2015

Will and Beth:

What's new with us?  Will has started his new 2015 schedule at work.  Which is still nights so that wasn't a change but he did change days off which meant when they had the shift change week he had to work 7 days in a row and 2 long weekends in a row to switch over to the opposite set of days worked/off.  Ugh thats a lot of cold nights!  One good thing about work is that when Will's anniversary rolls around this year he will get another weeks worth of vacation!  Were already dreaming about what we will do with that.

Will and I have been looking ahead to all the 2015 running events we want to do.  Checking when they are and how that falls with his days off.  We actually are doing a half marathon next month on Valentines Day!  We'll be slow but we'll be ready for it.  We also already have booked the Chicago Half Marathon in July.  Im excited to run the windy city!

I have had fun working with Will on our bathroom/laundry room renovation project.  We were both really happy with the results of our painting job.  There is still more work to be done in there but we got a lot accomplished this month.
do they look like brothers?

Will doesn't really like to make any new years resolutions or goal but I kinda like to reflect on the year a bit and set some goals for the next year.  I have decided I'm going to read through the Bible again this year.  I did it 2 years ago with some others in my family and enjoyed it.  Last year all year I never really got into a consistent Bible reading routine or devotional time.  With this plan you have to read everyday and that is good for me so one month down 11 more to go!  Of course I want to keep running and get in a few half marathons this year.  I'd still like to explore Biking more but not sure if this is a good year to start that with Will on nights all year (makes it hard to get away in the day).  One thing I am excited about is with the start of this year I have officially been blogging about each month for all of 2014.  I would like to make a book about our 2014 year in review.....and while I am making books about my blogging I kinda sorta still need to make Grants first year baby blog book.  Im hoping to purchase a new computer soon (tax return moolah!) and be able to work on it all.

Rex:

Rex studying the new Lego catalog that came in the mail while shopping at Aldi.  He looked at it the entire shopping trip it was my easiest trip ever to the store with a kid!

Rex really enjoyed his time off from school and all the fun stuff and places we went for Christmas break and didn't really want to go back but he's back in the swing of things again and enjoying preschool 3 days a week.  He even got invited to a play date with his best buddy in his class Tyson early on in the month.  Rex and I have been playing a lot of the Lego Star Wars video game on the Wii this month.  When Grant naps we have fun trying to beat new levels and get enough coins to buy new characters.

Grant:

Grant was cold and wanted to wear my jacket.  He wore this around for about 2 hours one morning.
Grant has had a bit of a resurgence of the terrible two's.  I think its a combination of Christmas being over, Daddies vaction being over, Our Kansas trip being over, Grant's being sick and held all day being over, and just being two all hitting at once.  There has been a lot of fit throwing, yelling at Mommy and Daddy, arguing, and just plain unpleasantness to start the year out.  But we still love our Grant-rant and are just taking it one day at a time.  Grant has also been really cuddly this month.  Usually Rex is my cuddler and Grant is off playing happily alone somewhere.  But lately he wants me to hold him and he's always right by my side and there has been lots of wallering on Mommy and Daddy. At first I was a little annoyed and wanted my space but then I realized this is a faze and I should enjoy some cuddles with my Granty-guy while I can get them.  Because next month he might be off on his own ignoring me again.  So we are two peas in a pod right now.

officer Grant

We bought Grant super hero underwear for our upcoming potty training.  He was really excited to try it on.....hope he's still that excited when its potty training time.

Grant in all his milk drinking glory.....hope I dont see similar pictures popping up on facebook in say about 19 years.

Post Bath time cuddles

(I know what you are thinking 1 pic of Rex and how many of Grant.....well like I said  he has close by me all month so I got some good pics)
We've been enjoying our fire place this month with some bone chilling temps that started the month off.
