May Vacay

Boys and Grandpa bringing the tractor home

We had our first family vacation of the year last month and it was a great get away for all of us.  We were all really glad to have Daddy off work and awake when we were all week long!  Since the boys are young and we are operating on one income our family vacations at this stage are pretty much driving trips to family members houses.  We were definitely due for a trip to Kansas so to Emporia we headed.  We did decide to make a stop in Kansas City at The Legoland Discovery Center for a few hours on our way.
Both of the boys LOVED it, and Will and I had a pretty good time too.  This may become a regular stop on our way to Kansas.

Grant enjoying the big block....do you think he has a favorite color?

They had lego models of many of the KC landmarks...this was the new soccer stadium.

Family pic on the medevial knights ride.....Rex's favorite he rode it 5 times.

After Legoland we loaded up and headed to Emporia while both boys slept all the way there! (that might have been worth the price of admission right there).

Grant playing tractors on his big boy bed.  We were SO proud of Grant for sleeping like a pro in the big boy bed all week long!!  This was our first time ever to try a big boy bed and he never got out once!!

Is that Rex??

Grant wouldn't ride without Mommy.
We had a great time hanging out at the farm with many trips outside to see Blaze the horse, the cows, the cats and kittens, the creek, the tractors, swinging on the swingset, and petting Belle the dog.  We also had lots of fun in the house playing with Daddies old GI Joes and tractors and cars and even playing the old super nintendo some.  We were glad to have Grandma Kay off work all week to play with us.  We also visited the Topeka Zoo and Emporias little zoo too.  Will and I even got a to go on a date to what is becoming one of our favorite restuarants Ad Astra in Strong City.  On the way home we were able to spend a few hours with Uncle Jason in KC.

This is a little hard to see but its a picture of a screen in the lobby where kids can make their own dinosaur and then it stomps around the lobby and looks like its walking right by you.  Rex and I are down in the bottom left corner.  I have a white phone in front of my face(taking the pic) Rex is holding his hand up hoping the dinosaur didn't eat us.  Rex created a dinosaur and named it "Buzz Lightyear" and Grant created one and named it "cow".

This was the view in the back as we pulled into the garage.

GREAT TRIP!
