Mom and Dad fried up their famous Homemade Egg Rolls for a MOPS Asian Night dinner at my house
Will and Beth:
April has been a busy month. It began with me hosting a MOPS Asian theme night at our house and all 4 of us on prescription antibiotics. (we've all stayed healthy since then! Ptl!) Mom and Dad were instrumental in helping make Asian night happen. They fried up all the egg rolls and then watched the boys while we had the party. I dont know what I would do without them. The very next day Will successfully completed his St. Louis Marathon ....and has run very little since. I have ampted up my running and even though I still feel like my lungs haven't completely recovered from being sick I have managed to get in 6, 8, and 10 mile runs. We had 2 boys birthdays. Farm Grandma and Grandpa came for Easter weekend, and we have really been enjoying the warmer temps all month long.
Will and I got to go on a date! We tried out a delicious Mexican place and shopped a new outlet mall.

REX:
INTENSE. I decided the other day that Intense is the perfect word to describe Rex these last few months.
Everything about him is just very intense. From his happy times to his dramatic sad whiny times. He is Intense about his Lego play, he is intense about what he wants and needs and it all has to be immediately. He is intense about his meltdowns and crying. He is intense about super heroes and dressing up. I find myself saying "Calm down" and "this isn't a big deal" and "you need to speak respectfully to Mommy and ask calmly and politely" over and over and over. I have to remind myself that we will get through this phase and there is a bigger picture and to not get sucked into the intensity of all of it.
Rex made up a song this month. It goes like this, "I love my Momma, I love my Momma, I love my Momma, I love my Momma yes I do." I added some other verses to it like I love my Daddy, Cousins, Grandma, Grandpa, etc. We sing it most nights before bed now.
Rex enjoys dressing up in anything and everything these days....

Love this shot I snapped on my phone at the park
how weve been eating lunch lately. I just set the boys on the counter while I prepare everything.
Grant:
Grant, Grant, Grant where do I start with Grant. Well he's 2 now as you know. He is just so fun to play with these days. He still amazes me constantly at all he is saying. Like just tonight I put him to bed at 7:30 and he literally talked non-stop for an hour straight. Its mostly happy things he is talking about and thinking sometimes he even sings. He does this a lot lately and usually just drifts off to sleep. Tonight though he got worked up and started yell chanting, " I need Mommy." So I finally went up there and in the dark I walk over to his bed and he says, "Mommy I have something to say." "OK what is is buddy" I say, "You need take Franklin" he says and hands me his stuffed Franklin the turtle. Im not sure what was going on up there but apparently Franklin crossed the line and he got booted out of the crib!
Grant has 3 of his 2 year old molars in this month! That means only 1 more and we are done with teething!! I think my poor guy has also suffered from Allergies this month. He has had a runny nose and goopy eyes many days when he wakes up. So far it isn't to bad and hopefully it stays that way. His molars have also had him up in the night quite a bit. Its been nice on the nights Will is home to let him be in charge of all the middle of the night stuff.
Here is a little known fact about Grant. He is probably the most hydrated child you will ever meet. He drinks and drinks and drinks all day long. We limit his Milk to 3 glasses a day or he would drink a gallon a day I think. He also gets one glass of Orange Juice with breakfast which he usually downs. Then the rest of the day its just water. He drinks so much that he wakes up most morning soaking wet. And we dont dare leave the house without a drink for him (or 2). If he decides he needs a drink and we dont have one look out, total meltdown time!

Grant really enjoys eating whole apples. He will eat ALL of it if I dont watch him.
