It is Finished---John 19:30

This is just a quick post to say I did it (by the grace of God I did it!), I finished my reading through the Bible in a year plan this month. (it ended up being 14 months but whose counting).  There where times when I was right on schedule, there were even times when I was ahead of schedule, and of course there were times when I was behind, really behind (I think I was a month behind at one point) but with my Bible.com reading plan app I was able to complete my goal.  Most of the books I had read here or there or partially or some many times but it was really good to completely read from cover to cover.  Reading through the Old Testament got a bit long at parts but that just makes me realize all the more how important it was for us that Jesus came in the New Testament to save us all from our sins, because if you read the Old Testament for very long you will find out that we have a long history of sinning!  I cant imagine living then and having to do all of the different sacrifices and ceremonies to try and become pure and clean.  The fact that Jesus died such a long time ago not only for the disciples sins so they could go to heaven but also for my sins several thousand years later is so so amazing.  Because I used my Bible.com app I did almost all of my reading on my phone or on the ipad.  I read a lot in the waiting room at my OB early on in the year  and then I often read while breastfeeding Grant in a dark quiet room (its amazing how you read the Bible in a whole new light while holding a little newborn baby in your arms), I read a lot at nap time when both boys were sleeping, I even used the audio feature and did some while I would take the dog on walks to the park and back (which was neat because I am one of those people who feels closer to God when I am outside in nature).  I highlighted and bookmarked 173 verses as while reading.  Which now that I think about it doesn't seem like very many.  I really glad this was one new years resolution that I kept.
