I'm not one that gets to into news years resolutions and all that stuff. But I do have a few goals this year that I will blog about and then hopefully that will keep me more accountable to accomplish them this year.
1. Read thru the bible in a year. I started last year and got behind and then just stopped about June. Which also coincided with about the time I weaned Rex. I used to have lots of time on my hands while feeding Rex so I would read the Bible on my phone with an app that told me exactly what to read each day and kept track of it all for me. I should be nursing all the way through to the end of this year so I hope I will be able to get into a routine while nursing again and read through the whole Bible.
2. Learn how to use my new camera. I got a really cool new Nikon D5100 for Christmas from Will and I am hoping to be able to take amazing pictures of mainly my boys, but also anything that inspires me. I don't know much about all the features yet and I am already getting some good shots so I cant wait till I actually know what I'm doing. Through the camera store I bought my camera at (Creve Coeur Camera) I get 1 free basic DSLR class I can go to. (I just have to sign up for it!) They also offer a class for my specific camera that I would like to take but I already missed the one in January so hopefully they will offer it again soon. Also SWIC (the local college) offers some good photography classes I might try one later on if I still want more after my other classes (and if I have time after baby gets here). And finally my sister told me about this thing called: The 365 project. The idea is that you take a picture everyday of the year and they will give you tips and advice on how to use advanced features on your camera throughout the year. I don't know if I want to completely commit to doing this every single day (I have a feeling I might be a little busy come April) but I would like to just get out and take photos and get comfortable with my camera. They want you to post your pics on facebook but I think I will probably do it on here instead. Maybe a week or month at a time.
3. Carry this baby to full term (and because a baby is considered fully developed at 38 weeks I dont think there is any reason to go to 40!) and have a uncomplicated, non-medicated (no epidural, I did it once I can do it again...I think I can...I think I can) natural delivery to a healthy little baby boy. (I know that many of the factors of this are out of my control but it is my goal and also my #1 prayer request until April)
That's it. Short and simple. There probably are more but not that I am ready to commit to and write down yet.
