21 week update

18 weeks...im trying to look pregnant really I am!
Another month has flown by in this pregnancy and things are still going great.  I have continued to feel more and more baby movements daily.  The babies busiest time is in the evenings which I really like.  After putting Rex to bed and heading to the basement to sit on the couch for a little bit of relaxation time with Will before our bedtime its fun to have the baby have play time in my tummy when and I can just sit and enjoy it.  I dont think I have gotten significantly bigger in the last month.  In fact I didn't gain any weight from my last check up to this one. (which really suprised me considering an entire pan of Special K bars were consumed in our house in the last month).  When the Dr. measured me this week I was 19 somethings? inches? cm? I dont know, but he said it was a normal belly measurement for 20 weeks.  I guess I should take a 21 month tummy profile pic but never seem to think of it when Will's around to help.  Maybe I could get Rex to take a photo for me?

Now to the most exciting part. We had our ultrasound on Monday and after a bit of a wait for the baby to move the cord from between its legs we were told, "its a boy!" We are thrilled, but I dont think very suprised. Will has said boy all along and I woke up Sunday morning to the baby kicking me and had a really strong boy preminition. The other great news is that the ultrasound showed everything looks great for baby boy Rowland. Even though I had an ultrasound last time with Rex I forgot how amazing it is to get so see all that is going on inside my womb. We saw the 4 chambers of the heart pumping, kidneys, a little brain, teeth inside the gums, and as you can see in this picture an impressive spinal cord! The ultrasound tech thought maybe the baby will be a gymnist or driver or something because of how much he was flexed up during the ultrasound. At one point his knee was up against his forehead. (which we thought was cute, but she thought was annoying because she couldn't get a good measurment of the skull that she wanted). The only thing that was dissapointing was the photos we walked away with. Compaired to what we got with Rex these just aren't as clear and detailed. Also as I mentioned the baby didn't seem to care that we were all watching him and appeared to be taking a nap or just chillaxing so it was hard to ever get a good profile of his face that I was really wanting to see. But I am happy we have any photos and will cherish them until I can hold him in person.  Here are a few of the other photos, I will try to explain what they are of, use your imagination.

In this photo he is actually looking right at us, you can see his eyes and the white shiney area are his teeth. (its ok if you think its kinda creepy).  I think he was saying "Im trying to nap leave me alone!"

This is the photo where his knee is basically touching his head.

Here he is kinda looking at us again and then you can see his leg stretching out.  I like this one because towards the top you can see his little foot and toes.
