18 Months = a year and a half!

Wow I cant beleive Rex's 18th month has already come and gone.  We have had a pretty full month.  Some highlights from our last month include dressing up as a turtle for Halloween (although we didn't actually make it to anyones houses to trick or treat), making a quick 48 hour visit to Chicago with Grandma Cindy to see the Stahr Family (cousins!), Rex and Daddy having their very first boys only weekend, so Mommy could have a fun girls weekend in Kansas City, coming along to Mommies ultrasound to find out Rex will be getting a little brother, and enjoying Thanksgiving Weekend in Greenville with a small crowd this year, which meant  lots of Rex being spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa.

A trip to the Rainforest Cafe in Chicago...the boys loved it!

At Rex's 18 month check up he weighed 21.4 lbs, which put him in the 3rd percentile for weight. (and as the one who often holds him I am not complaining about this number!)  Another big thing Rex has been doing lately is cutting teeth!  In the last 2 months he has cut 4 new teeth.  He is also communicating more and more all the time.  Here are some common words phrases we are hearing:
Ba- Ball
E-I-E-O  -E-e-e-i-o (old McDonald song)
Papa
Ama-Grandma
Ahhh Dun -All done
Hum -Home
dis dis- This
Be-Bo Be-Ba -Brown Bear Brown Bear (the Eric Carle book)
Oh No
Wa-Wa - Water
Hep-Hep - Help
Eat
Peeeaas - Please
TT -TV
Bow -Blow (blow my nose)

He is also getting pretty good at using a spoon all by hisself, stacking his mega block, building things without help, and starting to enjoy drawing and coloring.  I continue to be thankful that I am home with him and able to watch him play and learn and experience new things everyday.  I am starting to see how he is less baby and more toddler all the time, and lets just say we are also starting to see Rex act more like a 2 year old than a 1 year old all the time too.  Here are some pictures for the month:

The busy turtle

I wanted to get a cute fall leaves photo but after about 20 I realized he wasn't going to hold still for me to get a good scenic picture, so we got one with the a/c unit in it instead.

Rex saying pewl-pewl so I would help him pull of the couch cushion

I liked this photo because he sat down all by hisself and got his food and drink, I though he was quite the big boy!

When we get home from the store Rex is in charge of "organizing" all the groceries

Rex also helps me check for coupons that are expired
