March is a great month because it marks the end of Winter and the beginning of spring. Also daylight saving time and longer days.....but also the beginning of my spring allergies, which are in full swing this year.
This year we kicked off March with a trip to Texas to see the Stahr's. It had been a year since we had seen them in person, and several years since we had been to Texas. It was a really fun time. We had a good mix of relaxing and visiting at their house and fun activities to keep the kids busy. Of course, almost all our pics are from our trip to Six Flags.
Grant and Laura smashed together on the left
We stayed for the Fire Work show! It was icing on the cake
Uncle Steve, Grant, Rex and Laura
Rex rode the batman!!
Will & Laura, and Alex and Grant
Rex, Gavin, and Eli after the Batman
Also a fun trip to Chuy's for dinner! (not on Six Flags day...this pic just got out of order)
Laura and I rode the bucking bronco
Right before we left we Annie and I got a pic together....do we look like sisters? Hmmm I don't know?
Rex and Grant had fun in the pool and the hot tub all to their selves on the trip home
One of Grandma Lois' big wishes was to ride in the new St. Louis Wheel. (since covid she hasn't been able to make that happen) But she turned 90 at the end of February and a few weeks later she was fully Vaccinated from Covid....so I took her to the St. Louis Wheel for her Birthday!
She really enjoyed it, and remembered riding in a big Ferris Wheel with Grandpa Del when one came to St. Louis once.
It was a Gorgeous day and we could see everything
Ice cream treats at the soda shop afterwards
Next up I got invited to go on a Girls Getaway Weekends.
My friend Lyndsay's family owns a farm with cabins on it for people to have retreats on.
It was such a fun time with 2 good friends.
We had a couple of 70 Degree days (they didn't last) We made the most of them and had as much school outside on the new deck as we could.
We are starting to revisit some of our favorite parks from Jingle Hike in December. Willoughby farm was one of our favorites, so we've already been, and we will be back soon.
This picture may not look like a lot, just kids in our yard. But that is exactly why I took it! One year ago this time our yard was quiet and empty, this year the kids are back! At one point we had 9 kids running around. I love that our yard is big and wide open and had lots of fun features. Which makes it the hangout for all the kids of the neighborhood. Of course there comes some drama but it is so worth it to have hours and hours of playing in your own backyard.
I like when Lucy lays like this. It's just the epitome of relaxing. Also Lucy turned 3 this month!! She is such a good dog, it's hard to remember her not being part of our family.
We have started an indoor coop on Mondays. The boys are taking Animals, drawing, and chess. they have been having fun playing each other at home.
Will is 39! We had pizza and cake and later that weekend went out to the most amazing ice cream cookie store called "The Baked Bear". ....we may be back for my birthday.
That about wraps up March. The days are getting longer and warmer and I feel like we have been busier than we have in a long time. Things are starting to feel more and more like "normal" all the time.
