It's July, and it feels like it! Hot, humid, thunderstorms, sunshine, sunblock, and chlorine. (all in the same hour! 😂 ok not really but sometimes it feels like it.)
July started off with us being busy, which was a nice new phenomenon! A trip to the Gateway Geyser, the boys first real gun shooting experience, and a trip to Greenville for Fireworks!
Then a trip to Kansas for a much needed farm visit. We visited the WW1 museum on the way in Kansas City. While in Kansas we also visited the Stratica....a salt mine tour in Hutchinson, KS.
Many Hollywood props are stored in the mine...only a few are on display.
And it's official after a lot of thought and prayer we have decided to home school for the 2020/21 school year. It's a combination of a lot of reasons, but high up on the list was all the Covid-19 restrictions being implemented into schools. The boys are totally on board and we are all excited. It will be a huge learning year for all of us, We plan to just take it one semester/week/day/lesson at a time and see where it takes us. (much more to come)
Rex and Ezra finally got to have a sleepover they have been wanting to do all summer.
The boys have been swimming almost every day. The more they swim the more I think it is the perfect summer activity, and I'm so thankful we can walk across the fence and do it whenever we want. They are outside (when it would be almost intolerable to be otherwise), they never stop moving; jumping, swimming, holding their breaths, climbing on floats, it's a really good workout. And their imaginations seem to come out when they are in the pool. They will have whole sagas where there are dragons attacking people, and there is a magical egg that has to be recovered from the Evil doer or it will be the end of the world....etc, etc.... Plus when you are done swimming for the day you get to have ice cream treats on the deck, (and everyone takes a shower and is clean...which mom likes)!
