As soon as we got there, Grant was ready to climb on some tractors and he even managed to get a ride from Grandpa.
Thursday we went on a beautiful bus tour of the Flint Hills Nature Preserve. It was fun to get to see some bison up close and just enjoy the views from the air conditioned bus.
Kinda had to laugh when I saw this sight. Grant Definitely made himself at home...getting out every toy and tractor he could find I think!
Blaze enjoyed getting fed some green grass from Grant and I. We even managed to get him to smile for the camera.
We were all excited to get to go to the Flint Hills Rodeo again this year. The boys were so into it! They didn't even want to come with me to get popcorn....they didn't want to miss anything.
We always have fun visits to the Emporia Zoo. (only pic I got)
The boys really love the Aquatic Center in Emporia! Water Slides, Lazy River, big open pool. We all enjoyed a fun warm, windy evening there.
Uncle Jason came to visit!!
Grant and Rex has fun with Grandpa's old pedal tractor
The boys had a great time with dad at the train! (some of the best smiles we've gotten from Grant on camera ever!...Rex was exhausted but having fun)
I didn't forget about Lucy. She was there the whole time. She proved herself to be a VERY good travel puppy. Will and I commented on the way home we were stopping more for the kids than the puppy. She really did great overall the whole trip....except for 1 incident. It already seems like a bit of a blur I'd rather forget. So I wont spend long on it, but just say that she got into some mushrooms under a tree when I was letting her out in the yard (and then again with Will I think) which made her become violently ill. She was a very sick puppy for quite a while. We took her to Grandpa's vet in town to make sure she was going to be ok. They were sure it was the mushrooms and her body was flushing it all out. Yikes! What an ordeal. Thank you so much to Grandma Kay for letting us bring our sickly dirty puppy into the basement to recover and taking care of the boys while we whisked off to the vet. Also it was comforting to see Grandpa Jerry at the vet (since he was there already with some bulls).
