Grant is 5!

Grant is 5!  wait I already said that in the title didn't I?  Well he is you know.  Just ask him he will tell you.
Grant actually enjoyed a weekend long time of Birthday fun.  I was gone for a good part of it on a over night church retreat but Daddy took over.  The boys enjoyed Monkey Joe's together, Lunch at a McDonalds WITH a playland, and even a trip to Toys R Us.  On Sunday Grant's actual Birthday the morning got of to a good start with a birthday donut.

We had a nice family party with Mom, Dad, and Grandma Lois over for presents and cake (cookie cake to be exact because there is no other kind of cake Grant would pick) and ice cream.

Grant got a bunch of present in the mail on Monday too.  Making his birthday last even longer!

Grant got some cool add on pieces to the magna tiles square pieces we had.  I thought I made a pretty cool city with his help crafting it but apparently it was actually "Death Station".

It's kinda hard to believe that my baby boy is 5.  In some ways its kinda sad that we are now officially out of the toddler years and in other ways its a sigh of relief.  Just lots of mixed emotions.  I kinda have a feeling this is a common feeling going forward in parenting.  sigh.

Grant at 5 is:

Silly
FULL of imagination
Wants to be one of the big boys and to be heard
A good sleeper (finally!)
Becoming more independent all the time.  He dresses him self most of the time now and has started picking out his own outfits!
Creative
Gives amazing hugs and kisses
keenly aware of others feelings and emotions
Rex says "he's fun to be around"
Will says "generous"
Grant says "smart and awesome" ....and humble
Very encouraging when others around him are down
Rex's biggest cheerleader.
My lawn mowing buddy
Daddy's video game playing commentator
My #1 go to guy when I need an egg cracked

WE LOVE YOU GRANT EDWARD!
