March Madness 2017!

We had a little bit of everything in March.  We had a house full of 14 people for dinner and quite nights with left overs,  We've had crazy busy days and calm quite ones, we had snow and 16 degrees and 82 degree days, We've had school and homework and spring break and vacation.

The month got off to a bang with the Stahr Gang arriving from Texas.  We had 4 nights and 3 full days of fun family time with them.  The first day they were here we introduced them to the wonder that is the St. Louis City Museum.  It was a huge hit with everyone!  The rest of the days we just did lots of visiting, playing, coffee drinking, and little boys shooting electronic zapper guns all over the house. (my ear drums still haven't quite recovered!)
We sent this to Annie that we could hardly wait for them to get here!!

Here is the whole gang outside of the city museum
I didn't take very many pictures once we were inside.  Partly because my phone is running low on memory, but also because I was on my hands and knees trying to keep up with kids as they crawled all over the place!

These 2 are SO cute!

Rex finished up his Upward Basketball season this month. It was a little bit of a ruff finish for him, he really wanted to get a basket the last game and it just didn't happen.  As a mom I always want to fix things and make everything right but sometime I just can't and even though it is hard to watch the failure happen I know it will make him stronger in the end.  He's still "into" basketball and likes to go shoot hoops at the basketball court often with Daddy.

Here are the thank you's Rex wrote to his coaches.  I loved all the detail and thought he put into them.

LOOK OUT HE IS ARMED AND DANGEROUS

Grant and I enjoyed the first official day of Spring at the park, it was beautiful!

Rex got a nice long Spring Break and Will took his vacation to match.  So to start off our fun we decided to do something we have wanted to do for a long time. Spend the night at a cabin at Pierre Marquettte Lodge.  We stayed in a cabin, swam, hiked (a little), took a ferry to Calhoun County, and just relaxed.

Pierre Marquette is showing how the parents felt during parts of the spring break

We all swam the first day, then the next morning we had the pool all to ourselves and we just let the boys swim on their own the whole time!  It was amazing!  Kids swimming, parents watching, I could get used to this!!

On Saturday we made a day trip to Springfield.  We introduced the boys to Scheels. (a crazy big huge sports/outdoor store)

Yep there is a farriswheel at the store! (and kiddie bowling, and a kid shooting range, and nascar simulator, and scuba divers, and....)

Next we visited Lincoln's Tomb.  The boys got to give Lincoln's nose a little run.

Next Will had a birthday!!  Happy Birthday!

For our last day of spring break on Tuesday we went to the St. Louis Zoo.  Rex got into taking pictures with my camera.  He's planning a scrap book of the trip.

My favorite shots from the day:

March was lots of fun.  But I have 2 little boys that are eagerly anticipating April Birthday....
