March 2016!

lovely magnolia trees where everywhere this month.  this one is at Rex's school.

It's March, things are warming up and greening up.  Were getting closer to my favorite month all the time!  Here's the first part of March in review (I'll explain why later):
Will fulfilled my pre-requisite for him to get a new car: get me a truck load of mulch first!

Will and Beth:
We are still loving day shift but still not totally used to it.  I keep planning things for Grant and I to do when Rex is at school and I know in my head Will is off but I still don't realize that means he will be around to be a part of what we are going to do that day, or that I could go do some of those things without a kid tagging along.  The long weekends off are the best change.  When Will is off starting at 6pm Thursday all the way till Monday morning, it feels like forever. (and I don't mean that in a bad way) just in that I've gotten into the mentality that 2 days with him around was like a vacation and now we are regularly having him around for 3 full days every other weekend.  Like I said it just a whole new mind set to wrap my head around.

Will: Has been very busy with ILEAS this month (after a couple of quieter months).  They had 4 call-outs 2 of which he was able to make it to (almost 3, one he was about 10 mins away from making it too when he got called that the suspect had given up).  He and his team help do a search warrant on a suspected Meth Lab house, and helped in arresting 2 teenagers that had shot 2 people in the last week. That is one reason why he really likes being on the SWAT team, they don't wait for the bad guys, they take it to their hood, break down their doors and get them.  Then he had his regular 2 day monthly training, and then the next week he had a 4 day training class up at the Illinois ILEAS headquarters in Urbana.

Also Will had a birthday!  34!  Happy Birthday.  We will celebrate when we are in Texas but he already got his present from me the brand new kit from Sporting KC with on of his favorite players name on the back.

I came across my old journal collection from high school and college.  It has been entertaining to read through some of them and revisit my teenage self. Oh Teenage Beth you have so much to learn!

Beth:  I've amped up my running a bit this month.  Will and I are running a 7K next month, so a little for that but mostly because its warmer and I have just been enjoying it. (and also winter weight) I've discovered pod casts and I have about 3 or 4 that I really like listening to when I run or go to the gym they make the miles really fly by.  I've been busy with running boys around, MOPs, running, and Wildtree this month.  I've really do treasure my time at home these days.
Millie: Grant and I took Millie for a walk and she didn't do too well.  she tripped once on a curb and just laid there and whined for a minute,I didn't know how I would get her home if she didn't get up.  She did get up and continued but she was really laboring by the end, I think her days of going for a walk are over.  poor girl, getting old is hard.  I kinda feel like she's gone down hill quite a bit lately.  She has always looked forward to breakfast and dinner and lately she is leaving the food in her bowl all day long, and I'm starting to notice her losing some weight from it.  I still feel like she has a good quality of life but wonder how much longer she will.
We ran into the Easter bunny at Bucheitt in Greenville.

REX:
I asked Rex what he wanted me to say about him (because he was swarming me while working on this) and he said, "I Love School, and I Love Easter, and the Easter Bunny (he was looking at the pic above), and I like McDonalds (now he was looking at the pic below), I really like playing with my brother, and Fun Friday at school".--so there we have it from the boy him self

Rex had a pretty good March I'm trying to think what else to say now?  He was home one day from school (St. Patrick's day actually) with an upset stomach other wise we've all been really healthy this month (ptl).  Upward finished up. sniff sniff.  He received a cool basketball at the end that he is really proud of.  His birthday isn't until the end of next month but I do think he's ready to be a 6 year old.

We've been hitting up Micky D's about once a week lately.  Usually on the weekend, sometimes after a Upward Bball game (if its a later game), some times for an easy meal after Church and sometimes just for a treat.  The boys will both eat their whole happy meal and love the silly toys and now that they serve breakfast all day long I love getting the Egg McMuffin meal w/ coffee! The boys like it, I like it, and its cheap and easy. Win-Win-Win. (we wont worry about that whole its not very healthy for you part)

Grant-Man:

We caught a Leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day!

My last month with a 3 year old.  sniff sniff or should I say party-party?  There is always a little bit of bitter sweetness as the boys get older every year, but especially I think with Grant because he is the youngest and I know we will never do this age again.  Grants had a good month, I think?  Again Im a little at a loss what to write about right now, it all seems like a blur. He is very ready for his Birthday next month!
Grant wanted me to come up and say goodnight (after I had already been up twice) I said no so he laid in the hallway waiting and fell asleep there, silly boy!

Here he is another night when he "snuck" out of his room and was spying on me while I worked on the computer.  I just thought I'd see how long he lasted before he gave himself up.  After about a half hour it was getting quite and I wasn't hearing him whisper anymore so I went to check and found him alseep like this!  Doesn't he look comfy?  And apparently he had helped his self to the hat and glove bin while he was hiding.
LOLs: ;)
As Grant and I approached the pick up area at preschool where all the other parents are standing around waiting and Grant loudly announces, "All these people need to learn how to park!"

Grant and I were playing Disney Infinity and he said he wanted to play the pirate level and I had told him, ok that's the Pirates of the Caribbean level.  later we were upstairs making lunch and he was playing with something and he said, "Mom it's just like in that Pirate in care of the Beans level on Disney Infinity"

Grant had a bad hang nail on this big toe that had a little blood and I needed to clip it off but he did not want me to touch it at all.  I said trying to reason with him buddy you gotta let me look at it because Im worried there could be an infection.  To which he replied, "I've already looked at it and there are none confections on it!"

(they all seem to be about Grant this month, maybe I am going to miss 3 more that I realized! sniff sniff!)

Im wrapping this months review a little early because we are heading down to Texas! (Rex has spring break over Easter and Will has his long weekend off and only has to take 1 comp day for the trip). I'm sure I'll take a bunch of pics so I will review it separately!  The boys are very excited to see the cousins, play with the cousin's legos and jump on the cousin's trampoline.  I'm excited for a change of scenery and a time with my sister!
