34 WEEKS!

Im kinda like the Energizer Bunny these days, I just keep growing, and growing, and growing!  Again I was suprised when I saw this picture next to the 30 week picture just how much bigger I am....when you are living with it everyday you just get used to it and dont really see it.

So lets see what has been going on with Baby Rowland in the last month?  Will and I both completed our baby class.  I was suprised it actually wasn't as fun as I thought it would be.  I think it partly had to do with the nurse teaching it, she was just kinda dry and probably a good nurse but not a great teacher.  But it was very informative, some good, some bad, some a little overwhelming, some exciting.  We came home with a folder full of hand outs and a lot to think about.  I need to review it all again and keep it all fresh in my mind.

I had my first (and hopefully last) "scare" of the pregnancy.  I woke up a couple of weeks ago on a Friday and just felt awful.  I knew the baby was ok becuase he was just doing his normal wiggling and moving around and I wasn't having any kind of contraction pain or anything but I knew something wasn't right.  I went to the Dr. and found out I had a bladder infection.  Once I got the medication I started feeling better quickly but it was a pretty miserable 24 hours.  Apparently they are more common during pregnancy but it was good I caught it quickly because it can lead to much worse things like kidney infections and pre-term labor.

I have been having more "uncomfortable" days but still mixed in with a lot of feeling really good days.  (so im still not complaining).  Also I have been having more trouble sleeping.  I have to get up once a night now to go the bathroom and ofter times I find that I cant go back to sleep sometimes for 2-3 hours.  I just lay there and cant get comfortable.  So far it hasn't been a big issue because it has been on weekend when I can sleep in or just one night and then the next night I sleep great. Maybe it is some mini training for things to come for me and lots of being up at night?  Im still keeping up my walking but not as much as I had been.  It is more like a mile to a mile and half now I find that I am getting pretty tired by then. There have been more and more nice weather days, it has been so nice to get out and walk around the neighborhood.

On Friday we went to 2 yard sales that advertised "baby items".  These are some of the first of the year so I wasn't sure if we would find any deals or not but I though I would give it a try.  The first one had a few baby boy things but they were pretty worn and not great.  We had a little troube finding the 2nd one because it was a little ways out of town and didn't really list an address.  We almost gave up but Im so glad we didn't we hit the jackpot!  They had like 3 tables of 0-6 month baby boy clothes.  They were all in really good shape and good prices.  We ended up getting 11 onesies and 6 outfits (matching shirts and pants) all for $31!  Here is kinda of a picture of them, I just had them all sprawled out on the changing table.

I found that in the last week or 2 some of my maternity tops (ones not to long ago I described as tent like on me) are not fitting as well as they used to.  They are getting a little tight and a little short.  (as you may be able to tell from the pictures above) Also with spring here I get to hot in some of the long sleeve stuff I have been wearing all winter.  I hated to buy clothes that I will only need for another 6 weeks or so but decided that I cant wear the same 5 shirts to work for the next 6 weeks.  I really dont like shopping for maternity clothes, the selection is so small at stores and most of it isn't my style.  I finally found 3 new tops that I like and hope they will hold me over till May!

I feel like little by litte we are getting more and more prepared for this little guy to come live with us.  He's got a room set up now, he has a good start at clothes, his mom and dad are starting to get more informed about the whole birthing process, and thanks to some really great girl friends in Wichita I now have a few more baby accessories.  I received a jumperoo this weekend and a baby bouncer to use.  I am looking forward to the baby shower Calvary Baptist is having for me in 2 more weeks.  I will definately get some pictures of that to share.  Unless baby Rowland decided to make an early apperance into the world I will try to get at least one more pregnancy post in before the big day.  Until then I will leave you with this pic.

(Billie Bass is keeping the bassinet warm until Baby Rowland is ready to use it.)
