We took a huge long vacation to Colorado!! There are LOTS of pictures to share so let's get right into it....
Wait this is not Colorado!....but it's on the way. We very much enjoyed starting and ending our road trip by staying at the farm overnight both ways.
Blaze was feeling very friendly....especially because we brought him corn cobs
Donut Chef Grant made many donut creations....I believe this was 'the death star blowing up a planet'.
Our first stop was Colorado Springs. We enjoyed seeing Deer snacking on trees right outside our hotel
The boys really liked the hotel lobby and the breakfasts every morning
The Manitou Cliff Dwellings
Cave of the Winds
Garden of the Gods!
the boys enjoyed some rock climbing
Wild West Ghost Town Museum
After a fun filled 3 days in the Colorado Springs area we headed towards Estes Park, but made a stop in Denver to check out the Denver Air and Space Museum
Grant enjoyed flying this small airplane just as much as the boys enjoyed taking a simulator ride
Estes Park Colorado! We stayed at the lovely YMCA of the Rockies. There are mountains in every direction....just beautiful
The boys loved the pool and swam every night!
Rock Climbing!
In Rocky Mountain Nation Park....a large heard of Elk
Bear Lake
the boys made friends with some local wildlife.
We took a guided hike to Gem Lake with a guide from the YMCA. It was about a 4 hour hike. Our guide had SO much knowledge and experience it was really fun. The boys did GREAT hiking
this rock formation is called 'Paul Bunyons boot'
And just like that we're back at the farm....and all the Surprise Lilies bloomed while we were gone!
and finally back home....
BIG THANKS to my mom and dad for Watching Lucy for all those days.....she said she had a great time.
Will got knee surgery on the 20th. To repair his torn ACL. We knew it would be a big surgery and a big recovery. He is slowly regaining mobility and strength but it's a slow painful process I'm afraid.
