September.....Fall Schedle in full swing

September has really flown by with busy days and weekends.  I had intended to write more this month than last month but am feeling a little overwhelmed right now with many things going on and may just have to let the pictures to the talking for me again this month.

Rex had a 5 day weekend over labor day so I took the boys to the zoo one day.  Grant especially had been begging me to go for a while
Will and I have completed the grunt of our marathon training!  Now we just have to stay healthy and get a few more shorter length runs in before the big day next month.  Will is back on the 6-6 schedule, it kind took a bit to get used to that routine again but now that I finally am it sounds like he may be headed back to the Business district 10-10 schedule next month, or maybe not?  If I have learned anything in my 12 years as a police wife it is to be flexible, roll with it, and just be thankful and enjoy our time we have together when he is home, when ever that may be.

6 going on 16.... (also I posted this on instagram and got several comment about how much he looked like Will, I hadn't thought about it till they said it, but yea there is a little Will in there.
Rex:  is still loving 1st grade.  He was even awarded Student of the month in his class this month! Our main issue right now is that he is a complete perfect model student at a school all day and then comes home and is kind of a wreck many days.  I guess I should be glad he is being so good when he is out in the world and get that home is a safe place to let all his emotions he has held in all day come out but wowser some days that is A LOT of emotions and it is exhausting.  It is something we are working on, I'll leave it at that.  They started a club at school called Mileage club.  From what I understand you run laps around the playground at school during recess (totally optional) you get a point for every lap and after 4 pts/laps you get a foot.  He has a little chain bracelet with these little plastic colored feet for every foot he has earned.  He is very proud of it. (some of the feet even have names).  He used to run every recess (they have 3 recesses) but now the laps only count during one of the recesses to make it fair to the older grades who dont get so many.  He tells us sometimes he runs during the other recesses just to practice.  We have also run around the block a few times with him so he can "practice".  Of course we love that he is loving running.

Grant: Is so happy to finally be back to school too.  He is doing great with 3 days a week. (he would honestly probably like more, he talks often about next year when he and Rexie both go to school together).  He has been very into Disney Infinity all month.  It is a video game we got last Christmas.  It has a story mode mode you can play though, but it also has a place where you can create your own world using design elements from the game.  Every day, "Mom today I want to make a new world!"  We've been having fun with it but it also means I have to be right there with him helping him and honestly doing a lot of the designing myself.

Here is Grant with his teacher Ms. Elaine.  (he has another teacher ms. Jennifer too)

okay WHAT did they feed this anaconda?!  Seriously I think every one needs to do a head count right now! gulp!

The boys and I had a lovely picnic overlooking Art Hill in forest park.  It was really peaceful and pleasant, very refeshing after we left the very crowed busy zoo

Another activity we did on Rex's big labor day weekend was to go try out a new trampoline park in Edwarsville.  We pretty much had the place to ourselves, we all had fun..

Will and I ran the Vine to Wine 1/2 marathon in Greenville.  It was a muggy, hillier than expected run.  We both strugged more than we should have to get through it but it was still a fun experience.  The boys made signs and were waiting for us at the finish line, that was fun!

Papa is giving the boys a lesson on his new drone.  (see it hovering in the corner?)

Rex has been super into Pirates all month.  Asking a million questions about them.  wanting to know all about Pirates of the Caribbean, since he's not allowed to watch it.  Any way one night he sat down and drew this.  I love it.

Rex's student of the month award ceremony.  (he is the 3rd from the left in the front row)

Oh my, Rex is such a little man. Did you guys celebrate talk like a pirate day? And no surprise that you're raising a couple runners. :)
