October 2015

As I get older I feel like I am really enjoying the changing of  each season and the change each new season brings.  This month fall arrived right on time.  There has still been plenty of warm days but cool air to start and end the day.

Will and Beth:

Will's ILEAS team has been busy this month.  They have had several call outs.   Will was able to make it to 3 and now that he finished his basic training he enjoyed being an active member of the group rather than being on the sidelines.  Speaking of ILEAS training he's already got more training lined up for next month to go to for a week.  Also at work they had to submit their shift picks for next year.  Will put in for days. (just like he did the last 2 years).  So I wont get my hopes up to much for day but it would still be a welcome change.

Since we got home from vacation the month has just flown by for me.  I have been thinking a lot lately about going back to work.  When I should go back to work.  How much I want to work.  What would work with the boys schedules and Will's schedule.  What kind of work do I want to do?  Accounting or something different? I feel like I am still about 2 years out from being able to go back full time (when Grant would  be in Kindergarten) but even then I want to drop them off, pick them up, go on field trips, be home on vacation days with them and the summer.  While thinking about all that I did make my first step into the work force this month by becoming a Wildtree Sales Rep. (more to come about this later)

I did a little furniture remodel this month. I found an old table in attic of the garage, painted it black and waaaalahh we have a new coffee table.

Grant helped me out by making me lots of playdoh food while I worked on the table

Rex;

Things are going much much better at school this month.  I should say when he was there.  He had a 4 days weekend when we went to Branson, a 4 day weekend the very next weekend for teacher in-service and Columbus day, and a 4 day weekend at the end of the month for parent teacher conferences.  And I feel like he's getting adjusted to the long days and not having so many crazy mood swings at home.(he's still has them but not so many! ;)

We finished up saturday soccer on the 31st.  they all got medals and certificates.  Rex definitely grew a lot in confidence and understanding of the game over the course of the season. (rex is 2nd on the left)

Grant:
Grant has been sleeping in this month that is a huge praise.  He's been getting up around 7:30 vs 5:30 regularly.  I feel like he's been a bit moody this month, even a couple tantrums. We are nearing the end of 3's and I think he just needs to get it all out of his system before he turns 4. (at least I hope).

Quotes:

When offering Grant oatmeal or toast to eat he answered. "praise God above ye heavenly toast".  (to the tune of the doxology)

R- "Oh Lord! Grant did you just make a big mess!

When Grant talks a lot and says a whole string of stuff in a row when he gets done he ends it with, "AMEN".

we are very religious around here has you can tell. ha ha.
