Friday we headed to Silver Dollar City for the day. This was the first theme park we have gone to since kids and we had a blast. There was a lot of rides for the boys to do and the big kids got to ride a few rides too. There was also a lot of stuff that we just all enjoyed doing together. It was also really awesome to have a 4:2 parent to kid ratio. Once of the cool things that happened while we were there was we came across a pickers banjo kinda band just getting started with a show so we sat down in the back to watch for a few minutes. Then the lead guy was asking if any one could make a rooster sound. Rex made one and then got invited to the stage to do a song with the band. He didn't really want to go down alone so I tagged along. They sang a whole song with us on stage and right on cue Rex crowed like a rooster perfectly when they wanted him to. He got a handmade bookmark, friendship bracelet and a cd of the group for coming down. (you will hear the song in the background of the slide show it made).
Saturday we checked out downtown Branson and their river walk area. lots of cute shops that would be fun to go back to and check out sometime sans kids, rode the ducks, and went to the Dixie Stampede. Sunday we headed back to Silver Dollar City to check out Marvel Cave and re-ride all the boys favorites. Before we knew it, it was time to head home. We made a fun stop at Lamberts "home of the thrown rolls". The boys really like watching the workers throw rolls, they also liked eating. So much so that when their food arrived they were all full of rolls and fried Okra and didn't have much room for their burgers.
We've been wanting to get back to the Branson area ever since our honeymoon there. It only took us 11 years but we finally made it back and had a blast, I'm pretty sure we wont let another 11 go by before we make it back again. A huge thanks to Grandma and Papa for treating us all weekend and loving on the boys.
