May has always been one of my favorite months of the year and this year was no exception. From birthdays, Mothers Day, our Anniversary, to warmer weather, weekend getaways, and company, this month had it all.
Will & Beth: Im recapping us together this month because we celebrated our 9 year anniversary this month!! Grandma Cindy came and watched the boys for the weekend (our first night away from Grant....and only our 3 or 4th away from Rex) and we enjoyed a little getaway to Springfield, IL. I really enjoyed completing my thoughts, going to the bathroom alone, not having anyone play with my hair all day, and not being asked multiple times throughout the day to tell the story about the time we were outside and it thundered....but we also really enjoyed the Lincoln Museum, shopping, eating out at some fun new places, and spending time together...alone!

Rex: Rex enjoyed getting to play in the pool a few times this month, however not as many times as he would have liked since we had a fairly cool and wet may. He had a scary experience with being outside when it Thundered and consequently spent much of the month looking for and worrying about "dark clouds". Some of his favorite books to read this month were, Where the Wild Things Are, a Thomas the Train book that you can push buttons on and make sounds, Aaagh Spiders, The Very Hungry Dinosaur, and Extra Yarn. He also saw Toy Story for the first time and really liked it. He's been a pretty emtional guy this month with lots of up and down days and lots of melt downs and some tantrums. I guess maybe the twos aren't that easy to leave behind. He's starting to be able to pedal his tricycle all over the drive way with out help, and Will and I were commenting the other day that he is really starting to get fast, when we are chasing him now I actually have to run a little bit to catch him!
| Daddy started an indoor soccer league this month and Rexie had fun trying on all his gear......he told us he was Goliath |
Grant: Oh this boy is busy. One impressive accomplishment for the month was Grant getting 5 new teeth! (3 teeth and 2 molars!).....and he drooled A LOT! He is also becoming so interactive. He is waving Hi and bye and he says bye-bye as "dye-da". He is also signing All Done and saying "ah-da", he also signed more and bird, and he is giving very sweet kisses to Mommy with sound effects, and clapping. Another fun thing is he has really gotten into books this month. He likes to read certain ones over and over again and always fusses when we have to stop reading and turn the light out for bed. One funny thing he does is when we lay him in his crib for bed and cover him up he likes to start making snoring noises. I have to leave quick so I dont start laughing. On a less positive note, Grant has some kind of grass phobia. He wont walk in it, and if you set him down in it he just cries and cries. Im hoping this doesn't last all summer or it could be a long summer of holding Grant when we are outside.
| Have I ever mentioned how patient Millie is with Rex and Grant..... |

Grant loves the mower! (this was really early on in the month...before the Grass issue)
