Rex has been saying words for a long time now, but he is starting to put them together and make sentences. Here are some of my favorite phrases/conversation from the last month:
- "Ok I will try it" (when asked if he wanted to sit on the potty) (No we are not potty training yet but it came up during a diaper change and I told him if he ever wanted to sit on the potty he could)
- "Oh look at dat ets ensalada" (said while watching me take enchiladas out of the oven)
- "NO! Mommy do it!" (said about many things that Daddy is trying to do because Mommy is busy with baby Grant)
- "Owww that hurt me!" (I had said this exact phrase earlier in the day when Rex bonked his head into me, later in the day he stubbed his toe and said it. Then later when he was supposed to be napping I heard him saying it in his crib.)
- "Awww ets coot" (its cute)
He first said this about baby Grant, but I think he is just looking for an excuse to use this phrase because last night our conversation went like this in his bedroom:
Rex: Whats dat? (while pointing to the back of the fan in his room)
Me: That the motor
Rex: Awww ets coot.
He has also been calling Will "cute dadda" because Will calls him cute Rexie
He also likes to sing along with us to songs he usually picks up the last word of a phrase or maybe the last couple. Here are a few of my favorites:
Amazing Grace
Me: Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me
Rex: Grace....Sound....etch.....like meeee
The ABC's- Can sing almost the whole song gets the letters mixed up
Skip to my Lou
Me: Little Red Wagon painted Blue, Skip Skip Skip to my Lou
Rex: Wagen paint bewww....skip lou....skip lou
And lets not forget The Veggie Tales Theme song:
Song: Veggie Tales, Broccoli, Califlower gotta be half and hour, Veggie tales, Veggie Tales
Rex: Bob Tales (dont ask me why he calles it this) Brockie, Callifower, Bob Tales
| Rex wanted to hold Grant but didn't want to stop playing with my p |
